Delicate stamen exposed on this Christmas cactus. The background left intentionally dark to give a greater focal point on the stament rarely seen due the normal growth pattern of petals covers the sensitive part of the stamenns. I captured this flower while lying on the floor and carefully rotated to the angle as shown, any sudden movement, the whole flower would've fallen since it was only hanging just a fraction of an inch about 1/16 to be exact. The moment was ripe to photograph due to life span of this plants are very short. I cropped it to to square format to give emphasis to the composition without distraction on the bacground.
